Self care is not an option. It's a requirement if you want to live a vibrant, fulfilled, and purpose driven life.  1and1Life’s Wellness Wheel can help us start the process of redesigning our lives and creating the joy and success that we all deserve. If you do not take time to make yourself a priority, your physical, emotional, spiritual, financial life will suffer. Sometimes we have so many work, business, and familial responsibilities that it’s easy to put our responsibility to take care of ourselves last.

1And1 Life's Printable Wellness Wheel offers real strategies to take care of our physical, intellectual, spiritual, environmental, social, financial, and emotional health.  1And1 Life's Co-Founder & CEO, Corey Lewis, CPT, CSCS notes the importance of exploring the how the seven dimensions of wellness interact in your own life to create work-life balance. He says that "It’s very likely that tackling one or two of those issues and making some definitive changes for the better will have a positive effect on many, if not all, of the other parts of the wheel. With a little creative brainstorming and some determination to commit to better choices, you’ll be on your way to living your best life in no time."

In a recent interview with For(bes) For The Culture, Lewis notes that he especially wants to make mental health less taboo in the black community. He notes,

Lewis: Find your wellness routine that works for you, and stick with it. Whether it be some form or combination of exercise activity, meditation, support group gatherings or travel, look to find what makes you feel productive and happy. I can not tell you how beneficial it is for me mentally to exercise or find a way to be active every day, stick to my sleep routine (6 to 8 hours) and touch base with my mentors, my family, friends and people I consider a part of my support system. That is my combination of things that contribute to my ongoing wellness routine, but that's not to say that the next person won't be different, and that's ok! Take the time to find your combination of things that contribute towards helping you find what gets you in a better place both physically and mentally. I guarantee it will help keep you in a positive mental state of wellbeing more times than not.

This is so important as we are all navigating the stresses of everyday life but also the stresses that accompany navigating a pandemic and global antiracism movement. 1And1 Life's Larry Sharpe recently interviewed me about these topics and many more on their Video Podcast Off The Cuff.

1And1 Life's Wellness Wheel offers tools to help you check in on yourself and be your own best friend. Not the best friend that agrees with everything you say to not create conflict. You have to be the best friend that loves you so much that they are always going to help you reflect on what you can do to level up and be the best version of yourself. This is important because at the end of the day you are the only person who can make your dreams come true. Even if you receive support, which we all need at times, only you can make your dreams a reality.

We feel most “well” when we believe we have the freedom to express ourselves, create our own realities, design our lives, make healthy decisions, embrace growth mindsets, take on empowering habits, cultivate honest relationships, and lead productive lifestyles that help us achieve our goals.

Optimal wellness is also being able to tap into our passions, rediscover who we are, follow our hearts, make mistakes, learn lessons, follow our instincts, and take calculated risks that fulfill our spirits. It starts with a belief that we are worthy.

Before completing the tasks on the Wellness Wheel, take time to reflect on your life...your past, present, and future with the following questions.

-Who am I?

-Who do I want to be?

-What is my why?

-What energy am I entering new situations, relationships, opportunities with?

-Is your vibration one of self doubt, optimism, lack, or abundance?

-Do I believe that I am limitless?

-Do I believe that “Everything is Figureoutable?”

-What is my intention and how can I follow through? This translates to what do I want and how can I get it? Why do I want this? Will this desire help be my best self? Will this desire hurt others? Assess your desires, believe they are worthy, and make decisions, take action.

-Dream. Plan. Execute. All change begins with someone that is brave enough to believe in their dreams, make a plan, reach out for support, and take massive action.
